Job Purpose
Summary:

The core function of the Business Development Executive is to. support the Membership Director to grow the BGA brand and network globally. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for generating and closing new leads, domestically and internationally through telesales, emails, conferences and workshops. They will also be heavily active in the planning and running of roadshows and workshops internationally. The role offers the job holder a stimulating challenge to improve their sales and project management skills on a global scale.



Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Telesales, marketing campaigns and proposals to generate new leads and opportunities.

  • Arranging online and face-to-face client meetings.

  • Support the Membership Director with closing of current opportunities.

  • Organisation and handling of contacts, accounts, status updates and opportunities in the CRM database

  • Conducting and collating research based on calls to inform senior management of current trends, opportunities, and possible new product development ideas

  • To keep abreast of competitor activities

  • To work closely with the BGA team to ensure a smooth onboarding transition to the network

  • To plan and arrange regional roadshows and capacity
    building workshops for prospect clients

  • To liaise with the independent regional advisors on growth opportunities

 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate key benefits of BGA professionally to prospective clients.

  • A curiosity and passion to learn the industry
  • Understanding of B2B consultative sales processes and sales cycles.

  • A proven track record of B2B sales experience is essential.

  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines

  • High attention to detail.

  • Cross-cultural understanding, a global mindset and ability to translate these skills into effective relationship-building with stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems.

  • Understanding of Data Protection legislation and handling of sensitive information.

  • Ability to undertake regular travel both within the UK and abroad, entailing unsocial working hours including weekends, attending evening functions and meetings as required.

  • An unwavering commitment to high standards when it comes to customer service.

  • Ability to work collaborative within a team and across the organisation.

  • A quick learner with a natural curiosity with a determination to grow the network exponentially.

  • High level of emotional intelligence.

  • Possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree (ideally business related), with great academic results.

Location:

Top floor, 3 Dorset Rise, with a degree of hybrid working

Hours of Work: 35 Hours Per Week – The post holder will be required to work some evenings and weekends to fulfil the requirements of the role. In addition to travelling nationally and internationally to pursue business development opportunities.

Salary: Competitive, plus uncapped commission on all qualified new business
