Copenhagen Business School confirmed as world-class with AMBA re-accreditation

Copenhagen Business School (CBS) has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA & MBM and recent MBA & MBM alumni of CBS are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

The CBS campus is located in Frederiksberg, close to the centre of Copenhagen, on the school’s main campus of Solbjerg Plads. The school offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes within business and is known as one of the world’s leading business schools.

Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited business schools globally, were impressed by the personalised MBA learning experience offered by the school.

The panel commended CBS for continuing to maintain a strong reputation as a leading business school with a sincere commitment to internationalisation. The school’s research output was mentioned as  a particularly impressive aspect on an international level.

Finally, the panel noted that the school’s model for co-teaching as a means of ensuring continuous faculty development was innovative.

“It is quite an achievement to receive re-accreditation and a recognition of all the hard work that faculty and staff puts into the development of our MBA programmes”, says Anna Thomasson, Dean of Education at CBS.

She added, “With the renewed AMBA accreditation, we continue to uphold our Triple Crown accreditation, which is a testimony of high quality.”

“After being through a meticulous assessment, we are pleased to announce that AMBA has yet again awarded us its accreditation, known globally for being a symbol of the highest quality in MBA programmes,” says Poul Hedegaard, MBA Programme Director at CBS.

“It is a clear differentiator for us as a school to be able to display the triple-accreditation: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, and sets us apart from our international competitors,” he added.

AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and consider changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding business schools to perform at the highest level continually.

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: “I would like to congratulate everyone at CBS for this impressive re-accreditation. This school is an important part of our business school network, which only accredits the top 2% of business schools globally. We are delighted to work with a school which is leading the way in quality and innovative teaching on management programmes.”
