Hanken School of Economics achieves AMBA re-accreditation, confirming itself as a world leading management education institution

Hanken School of Economics officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of Hanken School of Economics are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 57,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

Hanken School of Economics operates on two locations in Finland, Helsinki and Vaasa. AMBA accredits the EMBA at the School.

Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the Hanken Business Lab incubator which helps start-ups, non-profit organisations and individuals. The panel thought this lab was a great example of innovative Business School practice.

Fundraising at the School was also noted as being very successful, the Hanken 110 campaign was given as an illustration of this.

‘We are honoured and proud to continue as part of the AMBA family. The renewed accreditation signals the high quality of our flagship program as well as underlines the efforts by Hanken to continuously improve our programs and other activities’, said, Karen Spens, Rector of Hanken School of Economics.

AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘Congratulations to Hanken School of Economics for this successful re-accreditation. This Business School is clearly innovative and the panel were impressed by how the School has responded to the challenges posed by Covid. I look forward to working with this School in the future.’
