Macquarie Business School achieves AMBA accreditation and joins network of world-leading Business Schools

Macquarie Business School officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA)one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of Macquarie Business School are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 57,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.

Macquarie Business School (MQBS) was established in 2019 and is the single point of delivery for all business, management and economics teaching and research activities at Macquarie University. The School delivers programmes at undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels, as well as providing micro credential courses and executive education.

Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the creation of the Global MBA programme at the School. They saw this as an appropriate response to the changing demands of the global MBA market and thought it allowed the School to make the most out of new learning technology.

The panel also noted the strong brand of the School and the high quality of applicants it attracted. The students and alumni spoken to during the accreditation were positive about the programme and the School.

The panel also commended the dedicated and professional team running the MBA and GMBA, who were seen to approach key issues with commitment and strong energy.

‘Macquarie Business School is delighted to join the world’s leading Business Schools with this prestigious accreditation,’ said Executive Dean, Professor Eric Knight.  ‘MQBS is known amongst employers and students alike as the place to be for real-world application and employer-relevant skills. This accreditation will unlock exciting opportunities for our students and alumni to develop the skills, knowledge and networking to further them in their careers.’

AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘I would like to congratulate Macquarie Business School on achieving AMBA accreditation. The Business School has a reputation for excellence in both teaching and research, and I am delighted that it is joining our network, which is exclusive to the top 2% of Business Schools globally. I look forward to working closely with this School in the future.’
