Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of Mona School of Business and Management are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies is in Kingston in Jamaica. AMBA accredits the master’s in business administration at this School.
Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the sense of value that the students get from their studies. Students who were surveyed praised not only the quality of the education they received but also the strength of the professional network they built.
The panel also noted the prestige of the School in the local market, with particular mention of their collaborative relationship with employers.
Dr David McBean, Executive Director of MSBM in reflecting on the significant accomplishment, firstly expressed his heartfelt thanks to the entire faculty and staff at the MSBM for their commitment to the arduous task of preparing for the assessment of the MBA programme. He further stated, ‘The re-accreditation of the MBA programme reinforces the position of the School as a world class institution and is a testament to the ethos of excellence that we pride ourselves on. The assurance of quality in all our programmes is one of the areas of our strategic focus and we pay keen attention to ensuring that we can withstand the scrutiny of our external assessors. The achievement of another accreditation for the MBA programme is therefore a signal honour and we remain committed to maintaining our focus on quality in our programmes, processes and people.’
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘Congratulations to everyone at the Mona School of Business and Management at the University of the West Indies for receiving this re-accreditation.
