The School of Economics and Management, China University of Mining and Technology has confirmed its place among elite MBA providers with AMBA-accreditation

The School of Economics and Management of the China University of Mining and Technology has officially received accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.  

Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.  

Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and MBA alumni of the School of Economics and Management are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 50,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits. 

CUMT is a public university established in 1909. The School of Economics and Management was established in 1953 and is one of the 21 constituent Schools of the University. 

Members of AMBA’s visiting accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the gender parity in the MBA. The Dean of the School, Professor Chen Hong, was seen to be an inspiring role model for both students and faculty. She is also the MBA Director and the panel thought this provided strong strategic leadership for the programme and was a signal of the MBA’s importance in the School.  

The panel also noted the dedicated School building on the University campus and its recently renovated facilities. Alumni representatives who talked to the panel were impressed with the education they received at the School, and spoke particularly highly of the wisdom, knowledge, bravery and team building course as part of their MBA. 

The School was seen to be contributing to the local economic environment through the programmes offered and with their research and consulting activities.
