The Zhejiang University School of Management has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of Zhejiang University School of Management are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 60,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
Zhejiang University is based in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is the capital of the coastal Zhejiang province and is considered the cradle of Chinese entrepreneurship. The Zhejiang University School of Management was the first School in China’s Mainland to gain AMBA accreditation in 2006. AMBA accredits the Full-time MBA, Global MBA, Part-time MBA and Executive MBA at the School.
Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the reputation of the School in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as its emerging focus on sustainability. The panel pointed to the incubator and accelerator facilities, as well as the virtual entrepreneurial networks as examples of the entrepreneurial success of the School.
The panel also noted the School’s excellence in research and its ability to balance its activities between research, teaching and service to create the best offering for its stakeholders.
Finally, the panel mentioned the collaborative and engaged senior management team of the School under the leadership of Dean Wei.
Prof. Jiang Wei, Dean of School of Management at Zhejiang University, said: ‘I really appreciate the praises and insightful recommendations put forward by members of AMBA’s accreditation panel. The AMBA accreditation provides us with an excellent opportunity of self-improvement and identifies the areas for future improvement with regards to sustainable management education. As a leading Business School and a pioneer in business education across the country, we have always been and will continue enhancing our reputation as a world-class Business School and providing our students, alumni and participants with unparalleled opportunities to expand their mind, challenge their thinking, exercise leadership, and inspire their entrepreneurial enthusiasm.’
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘Congratulations to the Zhejiang University School of Management for receiving this AMBA re-accreditation. The School’s core focus on entrepreneurialism is fitting in the wider context of the Zhejiang province and I am delighted to see the School’s focus on sustainability.
