About Edinburgh

Scotland’s capital is one of the most unique and memorable cities in Europe.  Studded with volcanic hills, it sits on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth.  The city’s superb architecture ranges from the Greek-style monuments found on Calton Hill, to extraordinary 16th century tenements in the Old Town.  The New Town is a Georgian masterpiece and you will find incredible Victorian works throughout.  Edinburgh Castle dominates all of this towering high on top of the volcanic plug that is Castle Rock.  In Edinburgh there are sixteen thousand buildings that are listed as architecturally or historically important.

Networking opportunities

There will be plenty of opportunities to network with your peers during this conference. Our interactive conference format features a series of workshops/breakout sessions where we will encourage involvement and collaboration, giving you the chance to hear from your fellow business school professionals both during the conference and at the regular networking breaks.

Additionally, we will be hosting a networking dinner event on the evening of Monday 3 July, where you will be able to exchange updates and ideas all whilst enjoying the excellent hospitality offered by our hosts. Learn more about our unique venue below.

Networking Dinner Monday 3 July – The Caves

The Caves is a truly unique, award-winning venue that makes up the sub-structure of the 18th Century South Bridge. There is no venue more Edinburgh than the Caves, or more Scottish, if you consider there was once so much Whisky stored here that it became known as “Whisky Row”. Every room has a story to tell and a special place in Scottish history -from vaults that served as the stables to the French Cavalry who were at one time body guards to the Royal Family, to remains of the houses that pre-date the Bridge itself – with the original terracotta floor tiles still intact.

Booking your accommodation

AMBA & BGA has negotiated preferential room rates for several recommended hotels for delegates to choose from for the duration of the event.

These include:

  • Novotel Edinburgh Centre
Hotel is approx. 10-minute walk from business school
  • Best Western Premier Collection Ten Hill Place Hotel
Hotel is 7-minute walk from business school
  • Hotel Indigo, 51-59 York Place
Hotel is 20 minutes’ walk from business school

There is limited room availability per hotel, so to avoid disappointment, we would recommend booking as soon as possible. For more information and to book your stay, contact Anita Galea.
