Massey Business School, Massey University has officially received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), one of the world’s leading authorities on post-graduate business education, demonstrating its continuing commitment to excellence in management education.
Upon receiving AMBA re-accreditation, all current MBA students and recent MBA alumni of Massey Business School are invited to join AMBA’s global member community of more than 50,000 students and alumni in more than 150 countries on a free basis, for networking, thought leadership, career development, and a variety of benefits.
Accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) represents the highest standard of achievement in post-graduate business education. Its rigorous assessment criteria ensure that only the highest-calibre programmes which demonstrate the best standards in teaching, curriculum, and student interaction achieve Association of MBAs accreditation.
Massey Business School is the Business School of Massey University, and is based in New Zealand. AMBA accredits the full-time, part-time and executive MBA at the School.
Members of AMBA’s accreditation panel, representing senior management at AMBA-accredited Business Schools globally, commended the personal development experience and leadership coaching which was made available on the executive MBA programme.
The panel also noted the prevalence of research at the School, with which the faculty were seen to be very involved. The panel thought that the MBA portfolio directly benefited from the strength of this high-quality research.
Dean, Prof Stephen Kelly declares, ‘The AMBA accreditation provides validation that the continuous improvements we have made to our MBA portfolio meet and exceed the high standards set by the international business education community. The recent addition of the new MBA offered in full-time on campus and part-time online, alongside our longstanding Executive MBA, means that Massey offers the greatest flexibility and choice in New Zealand to those seeking a world-class MBA. Couple that flexibility with a commitment to practice-relevance, and the Massey University MBA portfolio is truly a winning combination.’
AMBA accreditation is international in scope and reach, and AMBA works under the belief that accredited programmes should be of the highest standard and reflect changing trends and innovation in post-graduate management education. Its accreditation process reflects this commitment to fostering innovation, and demanding Business Schools to perform at the highest level continually.
Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: ‘Massey Business School is a very prestigious School and is globally recognised for its quality. I am delighted to congratulate everyone who worked on this re-accreditation for their success.
‘The School is ahead of the curve in its research and teaching, I am looking forward to working with the School in the future to support its innovation in these areas.’
Addressing the graduating EMBA class of 2020, Main Wilson added: ‘The news of this re-accreditation comes at a time of celebration for the School, with the Executive MBA students’ graduations. This year has provided a unique backdrop to complete any qualification and I would like to pass on congratulations to each student who is graduating this week from their Executive MBA. While the future may seem slightly uncertain in the volatile world climate in which we are living, the skills you have developed during your MBA will put you in the best possible place to succeed in the ‘new normal’ world of business.

‘Graduating from an AMBA-accredited School means that you are graduating from a Business School which is in the top 2% of its kind globally, it means that you have the right skills and knowledge to lead businesses through these uncertain times with an ethical and innovative outlook.
